Ezra Miller has been making headline after headline for various erratic behaviors and legal issues lately — but even two years ago, he was already in the news for a shocking incident.
A video went viral back in 2020 where Ezra appeared to attack and choke a woman in Iceland. Now, the woman has come forward with her allegations.
In a report published by Variety, the woman recalled meeting Ezra at a pub in Reykjavik and starting up a conversation with the actor. She recalled that she saw wounds on his feet, and Ezra claimed that the wounds were the result of a fight.
She recounted that she jokingly said to Ezra:
“But just so you know, I could take you in a fight.”
According to her, Ezra responded with:
“You really want to fight?”
The woman thought Ezra was just playing along so she told him to meet her in the smoking area outside the pub in two minutes. She said that Ezra initially just took her remarks as a joke but then one of her friends stirred up the pot even further, telling Ezra that he didn’t want to fight and antagonizing him:
“My friend didn’t have to say that… It was just a joke, obviously — but [Miller] took that literally and got super mad and came running outside.”
This whole exchange led to the viral incident which was captured on video and spread all over the internet. In it, Ezra is seen yelling at the woman outside:
“Do you wanna fight? Is that the deal?”
In the video, the woman responds by raising up her arms as Ezra approaches. He appears to grab her by the neck, and then pushes her to the ground as he held onto her shoulder and neck.
The woman told Variety:
“I think it’s just fun and games — but then it wasn’t.
All of a sudden, [they’re] on top of me, choking me, still screaming in my face if I want to fight. My friend who’s filming sees [they’re] obviously not joking and it’s actually serious, so he stops filming, and pushes [them] off as [they’re] still trying to fight me. Two guy friends of mine are actually holding [Ezra] back as [they’re] screaming, ‘This is what you wanted! This is what you wanted!’”
A bartender named Reynir broke things up and said Ezra grabbed him by the throat and then spit in his face, saying:
“[Ezra] grabs me by the throat as I’m trying to usher them out the [back] door and tells me they’re not leaving.
They proceeded to spit in my face several times, so with the final push I closed and locked the door.”
