Tom Holland is giving fans a glimpse into how he’ll be spending the holidays this year—and it looks like he’s planning something special with Zendaya’s family!
The 28-year-old actor recently chatted with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the Dish podcast, where he revealed his festive plans and reflected on a less-than-ideal Christmas from a few years ago. This time, however, it’s all about quality time, new traditions, and avoiding the holiday mishaps of the past.
“I am gonna be in America this year,” Tom shared. “I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun. Where we’ll be is a secret.”
This marks a far cry from his first Christmas away from home, which, as he explained, was a bit of a disaster.
“The first time I spent Christmas away from home was in America, and unfortunately, not by choice,” he revealed. “I made two movies back-to-back through COVID. Did two press tours through COVID and did not get COVID once, the entire time. And after the Spider-Man 3 premiere, which was the last day of work I had, I was supposed to fly home the next day for Christmas, and I got COVID. So, I spent like two weeks in essentially the guest bedroom and just was by myself. It was a pretty rough Christmas, to be fair.”
This year, though, Tom is looking forward to a much brighter holiday season: “This year will be great. This will be great.”
While Tom is planning to spend Christmas with Zendaya and her family, he’s already thinking about how they’ll celebrate in the future—and it involves combining their loved ones into one big holiday gathering.
“I think what we’d like to start doing is rather than like, spending it with each family each year, is to bring the families together,” Tom said. “That’s what I think we want to do next time. This time, ’cause we’re both actors, we’re terrible at organizing things. So it hasn’t happened yet. The thought’s there. The idea has been planted.”
In the meantime, Tom has been spotted in Boston, where Zendaya is currently filming her upcoming movie The Drama alongside Robert Pattinson. Interestingly enough, Tom and Robert have worked together before on the Netflix thriller The Devil All the Time, and all three actors are set to appear in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated next film.
With a packed schedule and exciting projects on the horizon, it’s no wonder Tom and Zendaya are prioritizing meaningful time with family during the holidays. While their exact plans are staying under wraps, it’s clear they’re embracing this season with warmth, love, and maybe a bit of organised chaos.
