Tom Felton may have been partial to Slytherin’s green in the Harry Potter films, but he probably didn’t expect to have a close encounter with the green on a golf course.
The 34-year-old actor, who also happens to be an avid golfer, hit the green on Thursday (September 23) for a celebrity golf tournament in Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Other celebrities playing that day were pro surfer Kelly Slater, Finnish ice hockey player Teemu Selanne, 1980 US Olympic hockey captain Mike Eurzione and Olympic speed skater Dan Jansen.
However, during the match, Tom collapsed right on the course!
According to Entertainment Tonight, Kelly was right by the actor when it happened and stayed by his side until help arrived.
He was later photographed being carried out on a stretcher, and appeared conscious in the photos.
The PGA of America has since issued a statement: “In today’s Ryder Cup Celebrity Match, actor and musician Tom Felton experienced a medical incident on the course while participating for Europe,”.
“He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further details are available,” the statement concluded.
An ET source says Tom was dehydrated at the time of his collapse and is expected to stay overnight in the hospital for observation.
His reps are yet to respond to requests for comment.
Tom just celebrated his 34th trip around the sun on Wednesday (September 22).
He commemorated turning a year older on Instagram, writing, “33 years done – good lord it’s been so much fun getting here – yet, somehow, I still feel the best is yet to come. Thank you all for your love , support & sense of humour – let’s keep a good thing going – to the next 33 xx.”
Feel better soon, Tom!
