Timothée Chalamet might be the epitome of cool, but even Hollywood’s most stylish stars can’t escape parking fines. The 29-year-old actor made headlines this week when he arrived at the London premiere of his latest film, A Complete Unknown, on a bright green Lime bike. His eco-friendly and somewhat unconventional mode of transport certainly turned heads—but it also came with a price tag.

During an appearance on the French talk show Quotidien, Timothée shared the story behind his decision to ditch a car for a bike. He explained that there was a huge traffic jam, noting that he was running late for the event. Rather than risk missing his own premiere, he hopped on a Lime bike to weave through London’s congested streets.

However, his quick-thinking solution hit a snag when he failed to park the bike properly upon arrival. The mishap resulted in a £63 fine—approximately $79.53. “It was horrible, because it was actually kind of an advert for them [Lime],” Timothée joked during the interview, clearly seeing the irony in the situation.

Despite the unexpected expense, fans couldn’t help but admire his laid-back and resourceful approach. After all, who else could pull off arriving at a red carpet on a rental bike and still look effortlessly chic?

Timothée’s spontaneous decision might not have gone entirely to plan, but it’s a perfect reminder that even A-listers have to deal with life’s little inconveniences—whether it’s a parking fine or London traffic.
