Serena Williams’ lips are sealed when it comes to answering questions about her pal Meghan Markle, a.k.a. the Duchess of Sussex.
ICYMI, back in January, a reporter tried to ask her about the Sussexes decision to step down as senior member of the Royal family during an interview at the Australian Open.
“Yeah, I have absolutely no comments on anything with that. But good try. You tried. You did good,” Serena replied at the time.
Fast-forward to this week, when she and sister Venus Williams chatted with supermodel Naomi Campbell, who has joined the growing number of celebrities creating online content for people to watch while quarantining with No Filter With Naomi.
Naomi tried to get Serena to spill some tea about Meghan, but Serena jokingly shot that question down.
“Are you happy that your girlfriend’s moved to America, Meghan Markle?” Naomi asked Serena.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Serena quipped, which got Naomi bursting out laughing. “Don’t know nothing about that.”
“I mean, they’re on the West Coast, but…” Naomi tried to press.
“Never seen her, never heard of her, don’t know her,” Serena continued. Then, she started to whistle.
So…yeah, they moved on to another topic.
Since officially stepping down from their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan have recently relocated to Los Angeles.
Meghan recently made her return to Hollywood, providing the voiceover narration for Disney’s nature documentary Elephant.
The couple has also been giving back amid the coronavirus pandemic. They recently donated $112,000 – earnings from their May 2018 wedding broadcast – to the U.K. charity Feeding Britain and personally delivering meals to people living with critical illnesses through Project Angel Food.
Prince Harry also took time to bring some comfort to vulnerable families during this difficult time – he sat down for a video chat with parents of seriously ill children, offering up encouragement and praise as he listened to their stories and struggles.
