A new report is claiming that Robert Downey Jr. has been helping Armie Hammer out.
Reportedly, the Marvel superstar has stepped in to offer financial assistance to the disgraced actor, who has been facing a lot of controversy this past year. Armie has been the subject of multiple allegations of manipulation, violence, and abuse and has taken a step back from the limelight since.
A source now reveals to Vanity Fair:
“Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he’s had some sort of privileged life – and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen. But that’s not necessarily the was things go. Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn’t mean life isn’t without problems.”
Robert, who has gone through many Hollywood scandals of his own in the earlier years of his career, is said to have decided to step in and extend a helping hadn’t to Armie as he goes through his low point. The source claims that Robert “paid for the actor to spend nearly six months in the Florida rehabilitation facility the Guest House.”
Armie reportedly completed his rehab stint in December, after which he moved to the Cayman Islands to be near his family. His estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers has been supporting Armie through his recovery.
The source reveals that Armie and his family are now in Los Angeles and “staying at a home owned by Downey and [Armie] has attended an A.A. meeting in Malibu.”
The source likewise states:
“In addition to providing Hammer a temporary place to stay, Downey has been providing Hammer financial assistance until he gets back on his feet.”
