Pete Davidson says it was Ariana Grande who made him famous – and got the paparazzi on his tail.
In a recent episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, Pete sat down with Sean Evans to chow down on some seriously spicy wings – and they got to talking about his issues with fame.
Apparently, Pete isn’t too happy about having the paparazzi hanging outside his house.
When asked if he could find humor in paparazzi following him around, he admitted that he couldn’t.
“It’s really annoying because I live in Staten Island and they come there now ’cause, like, Ariana Grande made me all famous and stuff, so it’s all her fault,” he joked. “It is! She sent the wolves on me. She made me and created me, or whatever they say.”
He went on to explain how bad the paparazzi sitch is.
“It sucks, it’s embarrassing, I have a family. My mom has to go to work, and there’s these f–king weirdos outside. And it’s embarrassing, and it sucks,” he says.
As a refresher, Ari and Pete had both just come out of long-term relationships – Ari with Mac Miller, and Pete with Cazzie David – when they started dating in May 2018. By June, they were engaged. Five months into their relationship though, they’d called it quits.
Mac passed away in September 2018 from an accidental overdose, just two months after Ari and Pete got engaged. And, in a recent interview with Charlemagne Tha God, Pete revealed how he kinda predicted that their relationship was “around over” after Ari struggled with the loss.
“I was like, ‘Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here,’” Pete said, recalling how he supported Ari when she was mourning Mac. “I think I said, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.’”
“I pretty much knew it was around over after that,” he continued. “That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that s— is like. All I do know is that she really loved the s— out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was f—ed up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.”
Pete has since been romantically linked with Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, and most recently, Kaia Gerber – Cindy Crawford’s daughter – which he may have confirmed (he referred to a “KG” during the interview) that they’d been “dating for a few months” before splitting up.
