Norman Reedus Sells Hollywood Hills Chateau

Last year, Norman Reedus bought himself a pretty unusual but striking property – a nearly-century old chateau-inspired home on the Sunset Strip. The more than 7,700-square-foot home in the Hollywood Hills area is a definite eye-catcher with its medieval-castle-like exterior. It also happens to be very near another well-known chateau in Los Angeles – within walking distance from the Chateau Mormont.

In just a little over a year, the Walking Dead star has already flipped it – and made a tidy profit, too!

According to Dirt.com, Norman, who also happens to be a low-key real-estate mogul, got the property at a steal in early 2020, forking over just $8.5 Million cash for the property, which was originally listed at $13 Million. Earlier this summer, the property was back on the market at $9.2 Million. While it sold for slightly under the listing price, the $8.9 Million sale made a cool profit of $400,000.

Curious what’s inside Norman Reedus’ former castle on the hill? Don’t worry, we got you.

The fanciful home was originally built in 1926. But despite its old-timey exterior, the inside is thoroughly modern – with black-and-white décor and hand-finished hardwood floors all throughout, as well as some occasional brick accents.

The open floor plan boasts a bi-level combination living and dining room lined with Steelcase doors for that indoor/outdoor living. The custom kitchen has been outfitted with SubZero/Wolf appliances and features a Carrara marble countertop.

The house has a total of four bedrooms, with the master suite and a couple of guestrooms on the upper level. There’s also five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.

The master suite comes with its own fire place, sitting room, a small balcony that offers sweeping views over the city, a walk-in closet with custom built-in shelves and glass-door cabinets, and a master bath which features a smoked-glass panel-enclosed shower, standalone bathtub, and his and hers sinks.

The home also has a spacious family room that doubles up as a media room. Plus, there’s a loft-like gym, and a recording studio/games room.

Outside, there’s plenty of activities to be had in the half-court sports court, a custom children’s playset, and oval swimming pool. There’s also a stone patio in the backyard that comes with a full outdoor kitchen and grill, plus a pizza oven.

The 0.42 acre property stays well in touch with nature with its grassy lawns and rose gardens and enjoys a lot of privacy thanks to the surrounding high hedges.

If you didn’t know, Norman owns a number of multi-million-dollar properties – including a $2.9 Million  Frank-Lloyd Wright-inspired home just outside Atlanta that he bought in 2015, a $3.8 Million penthouse in lower Manhattan, and the $11.75 Million townhouse in West Village he owns with longtime partner Diane Kruger. He also owns a cottage in upstate New York where his mother lives.
