Millie Bobby Brown has never been shy about her dreams of family life, and now that she’s married to Jake Bongiovi, she’s opening up about what the future holds.
The 21-year-old Stranger Things star recently revealed that starting a family with her 22-year-old husband is something she has always envisioned. Speaking on the “Smartless” podcast, Millie shared that her upbringing played a huge role in shaping her desires for motherhood.
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake. Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me,” she explained.
Jake is fully aware of how important this is to Millie, but the couple also has a clear plan in place.
“Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally. It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing,” she added.
Millie also opened up about how she envisions expanding her family in the future.
“I really want a family. I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting,” she said.
Millie and Jake first went public with their romance in 2021 and got engaged in 2023. They officially tied the knot in an intimate, secret ceremony attended by Jake’s father, rock legend Jon Bon Jovi.
