Maluma is opening up about his connection with Kim Kardashian.
The 27-year-old performer has had ties with the Kardashian family for years – he and Scott Disick are longtime pals. However, more recently, there were rumors that he may have forged closer ties to the famous family.
Not long after Kim filed for divorce from Kanye West in February, rumors began swirling about a possible new romance linking her to not one but two alleged beaus – CNN’s Van Jones and Maluma.
But according to Maluma, they’re just “good friends” and he doesn’t even know where the rumor began.
“We were together at the [2019] Dior show [in Miami]. I met her for the first time there,” he told L’Officiel Hommes about how they first met. “I was also there with Kourtney [Kardashian].”
“People just started talking about it. I don’t know why they started asking her that. Maybe because she was getting her divorce and everything, you know?” he continued.
As for their relationship status, “We are good friends,” he said. “We don’t talk that often, but yeah, we are good friends and we always wish the best for each other.”
Kim has also addressed the speculations on her love life. During the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reunion special in June, she said, “No, I’m not dating either one – not Van Jones, not Maluma.”
But she does know both of them. “Van texted me and was like, ‘This rumor has gotten me so many dates and I’m so grateful,'” Kim shared. As for Maluma, “I’ve known him, I’ve seen him a few times, always in Miami, such a nice guy. So nice.”
As for any future romance, she revealed she’s open to the possibly dating a non-celebrity.
“Yeah, absolutely. Just someone that I think would understand what this life is about, though,” she shared at the time. “But I think what I was looking for and who I was, you know years ago is completely different than who I am today and I value privacy. And I just want something that’s like, really real.”
