Leslie Grace is speaking out after it was announced that Batgirl will no longer be released.

The 27-year-old actress took to social media to pen a heartfelt message just one day following the announcement that sent shockwaves throughout social media.

Leslie was cast in the lead role of Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl last year, and spent several months filming the movie in Scotland. Filming had already been completed for the live adaptation of the beloved comic title.

Batgirl has been shelved, and will reportedly no longer hit theaters, not will it premiere on HBO Max or any of the studio’s platforms.

Leslie shared a drawing of her as the titular heroine alongside this emotional note:

“On the heels of the recent news about our movie ‘Batgirl,’ I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland. I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process!

To every Batgirl fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, ‘my own damn hero!’”
