Leonardo DiCaprio’s Red Oak Manor in Los Feliz is on the market.
The century-old, five-bedroom, 7.5 bathroom English Tudor Revival home previously belonged to Moby, who bought it back in 2016. While his subsequent two-year renovation updated the home with modern amenities, the musician opted to retain much of the home’s original old-world charm including the vaulted ceilings, French doors, and the ornamental moldings on the home’s three fireplaces.
Leo, who is also known for his impressive real-estate portfolio, bought the home from Moby in 2018 for $ 4.9 Million. It used to be where Leo’s dad, George DiCaprio, lived – until he traded up to a $7.1 Million home in the area earlier this year, leaving the home vacant.
The front door itself is full of character – red, with leaded glass windows. Opening up to clean, white interiors, 4,600 square foot home boasts a spacious foyer that leads into formal living and dining rooms.
A more casual, everyday aspect of the house is the family room, which is lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. French doors on one side open up to a covered lounge on top of the two-car garage, overlooking the landscaped grounds.
The gourmet kitchen is outfitted with a modern all-white and stainless steel theme – from the marble countertops to the furnishings, and the appliances – plus French doors that provide access to an al fresco dining space on the terrace outside.
There’s not one but two master suites – each with very different features. One boasts a fireplace while the other comes with an extra room and a custom-fitted dressing area. However, both come with en suite bathrooms with extensive closet space as well as spa-like baths.
There’s one guest room on the lower floor that has its own private entrance – and also has a pretty interesting feature: a secret passage way! Apparently, there’s a hidden bath and steam room in the house – and the passage way is the means to get to it.
The home also offers lots of privacy – there’s a security gate out front. And much of the house is surrounded by mature pine trees and tall hedges.
Red Oak Manor is listed for sale at $5.7 Million.
