Lady Gaga And Ariana Grande Get Emotional As Collab ‘Rain On Me’ Drops; Vanessa Bryant Announces Kobe’s Upcoming Novel

Fans finally got the Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande collab they’ve been waiting for.

The two pop superstars dropped the single “Rain On Me” on Friday (May 22) – they announced the track earlier this week.

Ari, who recently reflected on the Manchester Arena attack that occurred three years ago, was in her feelings leading up to the release.

“really emotional day okay wish i could hug u rn @ladygaga #onehour #rainonme,” she tweeted an hour before the release.

Gaga shared a heartfelt message for Ari and her fans, the Little Monsters, on Twitter as the song dropped, writing, “Thank you for reminding me I’m strong, I’m super emotional and love you so very much, I cherish you @ArianaGrande and little monsters without you I don’t know how I would survive. I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m alive.”

She also reflected on overcoming difficult times in another tweet, sharing, “If we’re gonna cry we’re gonna cry together, but we’re gonna dance while we do it. #RainOnMe #LittleMonsters ⁦
@ArianaGrande 💕💕let it pour☔️ I’m crying on my porch that I use to not be able to leave, I was stuck. Now I dance on it and sing about how I got through it.”

Ari also shared the story behind their collab. “one time ….. i met a woman who knew pain the same way i did… who cried as much as i did, drank as much wine as i did, ate as much pasta as i did and who’s heart was bigger than her whole body. she immediately felt like a sister to me,” she wrote of Gaga.

“she then held my hand and invited me into the beautiful world of chromatica and together, we got to express how beautiful and healing it feels to mothaf–kinnnn cry ! 🌧 i hope this makes u all feel as uplifted as it does for us both,” she continued, adding, “i love u @ladygaga, u stunning superwoman !”

“Rain On Me” is the second single off of Gaga’s upcoming sixth album, Chromatica, which will be released on May 29.

Kobe Bryant’s first post-humous novel is dropping this summer.

Fans know that Kobe was a man of many interests and talents – among them a decorated NBA player, an Academy-Award winner (he wrote and narrated the short film Dear Basketball), a published author, a philanthropist, and more.

He’s co-written four books so far – including Epoca: The Tree of Ecrof with Ivy Claire and the memoir The Mamba Mentality: How I Play, and The Wizenard Series.

His wife, Vanessa, shared the first look at the cover for Kobe’s upcoming fifth novel, Geese Are Never Swans, on Instagram and shared a quote from the book. “Whether goose or swan, I have wings and I’ll fly 🕊 🕊,” she began the caption.

The books is a collaboration of Kobe and psychologist Eva Clark, and Vanessa says it’s one of her “favorite novels” by her husband.

Kobe created the character of Gus Bennett for the story, who Vanessa shared is “an aspiring Olympic swimmer facing tough issues that he must overcome in order to win in the pool.”

“This story perfectly highlights the healing nature that lies within sports,” she explains, before announcing, “The book will be released on July 21 and is now available for pre-order.”

Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were among the victims of a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Jan. 26.
