Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari have come clean. The former Laguna Beach co-stars reunited alongside their mutual ex, Stephen Colletti, in an episode of Kristin and Stephen’s Back To The Beach podcast — and they candidly spoke about their drama and all that went down.
LC, 36, appeared on the season 1 finale of the rewatch podcast. She admitted that she had some hesitation about coming on the show, but that after listening to the podcast, she realized it would be a “safe space” to talk. She said about Laguna Beach:
“Watching it was so much worse than I imagined it would be. It was really cringey.”
Kristin asked LC to weigh in on the drama that was shown between them on the series, with Kristin saying:
“My take on it is, you and I never really had any beef. MTV coming keep it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been.”
Lauren agreed:
“Yeah, I think it was done when they started filming. It was like a week before they started filming. We got into it and then made up… And it was fine.”
She added about their relationship then:
“I mean, I don’t think we were, like, best friends. But we were like, ‘It’s fine.’”
Kristin stated:
“We never had an issue with each other.”
To which Lauren replied:
“I mean, we had an issue with each other, but it had been squashed.”
Kristin confirmed:
“We squashed it.”
Lauren shared her biggest regret from her time on Laguna Beach:
“My biggest regret was, watching it, I called you a slut. I’m so sorry.
Watching it, it was like, ‘Oh, I couldn’t believe I did that.’ Because I think where I’m at now, I would never call another woman that, or girl. And it was, for me, like, the most embarrassing moment. I was like, ‘Oh, gross.’”
Kristin thanked her for the apology, and noted that she too called Lauren a slut in another episode:
“I know. I feel the same. I said some really dumb stuff and I look back and that’s my biggest thing. When I watch it now, I’m like, ‘I wasn’t confident at all. I was actually so insecure.
And I took it out on you in a lot of ways. And I’m so sorry for that. Because I said some horrible things.”
Lauren responded:
“Same. We weren’t great.”
