The cold never bothered Kristen Bell anyway!
Yes, that’s not her line in the movie, but the Frozen star just proved she isn’t afraid of subzero temperatures.
Kristen took to Instagram Story Wednesday (June 30) to share some clips of her trying out cryotherapy –
a treatment which involves patients exposing their bodies to sub-freezing temperatures, per Medical News Today.
Her husband, Dax Shepard, was there filming her getting ready to go into the -169 degree chamber – wearing only a lavender bikini along with a face mask, mittens, socks and slippers,
He also gave her a hilarious confidence boost of sorts. “You look like a Bond villain girl? One of the two,” the 46-year-old actor said offcam. “Like, you’re in Sweden skiing after James, but for some reason you’re in a bathing suit and wearing your mittens?”
“Typical babe in an action movie,” Kristen replied. “We don’t need no armor.”
After her time was up, Kristen shared a clip of her effortlessly exiting the chamber, captioned, “I’m only here for the health benefits.”
“I think I’m ready to graduate to intermediate,” she told her husband with a smile.
Cryotherapy has become an increasing popular treatment. According to WebMD, it’s been used to help speed up recovery and treat arthritis, asthma, and anxiety – however, it is not FDA approved.
Kristen has battled depression and anxiety for years and has tried different kinds of treatments to help manage her mental health – from therapy and meditation to more controversial methods like hallucinogenic mushrooms.
She has also been candid about how therapy helps keeps her and Dax’s marriage strong. Recently, she revealed that she and Dax have been going to therapy separately as well – so they can “talk s—t about each other.”
“Currently, what we’ve been doing for the past couple of months, every two weeks or so, I’ll go see [our therapist] on Zoom and complain about Dax, and then he’ll give me all the reasons why I’m wrong, and then Dax will do the same and then by the time we meet up in the evening, we love each other again,” she shared during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
