Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are parents to two adorable girls – eight-year-old Lincoln and six-year-old Delta – who, apparently, are pretty expressive in writing.
In a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kristen shared that her daughters like to leave her notes around the house – however, they’re not all the hugs-and-kisses type. Her youngest, Delta, particularly likes to assert boundaries.
“Sometimes it’ll be an ‘I love you,’ but most times, it’s about what stuff is hers and what not to touch,” Kristen shared.
One example she showed was a note that read: “Delta’s cookie. Don’t touch or else…”
Despite the threatening tone, the whole thing ended up being too adorable – Delta had written it on a ziplock bag that contained a leftover bite of cookie. (The eco-conscious mom did kind of freaked out about using a whole bag for a small bit of pastry though and had already made plans to reuse it.)
She also revealed that her six-year-old has a flair for drama, showing a note her daughter wrote that read: “Don’t disturb. Delta is starving to death. Only mom can come in.”
“This was over an ice cream trip that I was like, ‘No, it’s 7 o’clock the evening, we’re not going to get ice cream right now.’ And then she decides, she was like, ‘Well, I’m just going to starve myself to death,'” the mom-of-two explained. “I think Dad had said, ‘No, we’re not going to ice cream,’ which is why I was allowed in.”
In addition to her two examples, Kristen joked that, “There’s a lot of notes in the fridge from my kids about what I can and cannot touch.”
But Kristen also takes pride that her kids are learning to set boundaries at such a young age.
“I’m raising very strong women,” she said.
Aww…This story is just too cute.
