Kelsea Ballerini is setting the record straight when it comes to fan behaviour at her concerts.
During a recent performance, the 31-year-old country star hit pause mid-song to address concertgoers making negative comments about her ex-husband, Morgan Evans.
The song in question? “Penthouse”—one of her most personal tracks, which reflects on her divorce.
“It hurts putting s–t in a box / And now we don’t talk / And it stings rolling up the welcome mat / Knowing you got half,” she sings.
While fans have taken to shouting lyrics like “you got half,” some have reportedly been going a step further, yelling “F You, Morgan” during the pause in the song.
Kelsea wasn’t having it.
“Guys, we have to stop saying that,” she told the crowd. “Seriously, we’re three years past it, everything’s fine now. I sing the song for you now, it’s not about me anymore, please… Alright, for everyone that’s moving forward with their life, will you sing this with me?”
With her new romance with Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes going strong, Kelsea is clearly focused on the future—and encouraging her fans to do the same
