It’s a girl!
Yup, you read that right. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who are expecting their first child together, are going to have a baby girl.
Katy announced their baby’s gender on social media on Friday (April 3), posting a photo of Orlando’s face covered in pink icing – literally!
“💕 it’s a girl 💕,” she captioned the photo.
Back in March, Katy told fans at her concert in Melbourne, Australia, that she was hoping for a girl. Orlando is already dad to 9-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
She’s since cut her Australia tour short though and is now home in the US with Orlando.
“She came home from Australia, canceled public appearances and just wants to be home with Orlando who also has time off because of the virus,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “This pandemic has changed everything and she will put her baby’s health first. She is going to take this time at home to plan her nursery.”
Katy revealed her pregnancy on Thursday (March 5) with her music video for “Never Worn White” – where she wears a sheer dress and shows off her baby bump in the final scene.
Katy and Orlando, who got engaged in February 2019, have been busy planning their wedding – but it seems they’re in no rush to say “I do.”
Sources say that the couple is also postponing their wedding, which is reportedly set in Japan, in light of concerns over the worldwide Coronavirus outbreak.
Katy previously sent the people of China, where the virus is reported to have originated, a message of support amidst the ongoing battle with the outbreak.
“I just wanted to send a message to you to let you know that we are all with you during this time, and keep fighting, and stay healthy, and positive as best as you can,” Katy said. “We’re thinking of you. We are sending our prayers. We’re gonna get through this.” The video was posted by Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organization, on Twitter.
