Jonathan Bailey is downright wicked!
The Bridgerton star has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated live-action movie adaptation of the beloved musical. He will be taking on the role of Fiyero in the film.
Director Jon M. Chu confirmed the news on Twitter, writing:
“He’s perfect, they’re perfect. They’d be perfect together. Born to be forever….. I am too excited to pretend this hasn’t been happening.
We have a Fiyero!!!! #JonathanBailey #Wicked”
Jonathan will be starring alongside Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, in the upcoming movie, which will be released in two parts. Part one will be released on December 25, 2024, and part two exactly one year later.
Ariana reacted to the exciting news of Jonathan’s casting, sharing on her Instagram Story:
“Oh what a celebration we’ll have today.”
She added:
“we are so excited for you to join us over here in Oz @jaybayleaf”
Cynthia shared a photo collage of the three of them, along with the caption:
