Jennifer Lopez is ready to light up the stage once again—this time as both host and performer of the 2025 American Music Awards.
Set to air live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, the iconic singer, dancer, and actress will headline the night in more ways than one. The ceremony will be broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, making it a global affair that kicks off the summer season in signature J.Lo style.
This marks the second time Lopez will host the AMAs. Her first go-round as emcee came in 2015, when she not only hosted but also opened the show with a jaw-dropping medley of that year’s biggest hits. This time, she’s back and ready to deliver a fresh round of energy.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back to host the American Music Awards,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions. “Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer.”
The AMAs and J.Lo go way back. She’s performed at the show more than ten times over the years—so fans can expect something big for this next performance. According to the show’s official press release, Lopez’s upcoming set promises to be “an exciting highlight of the evening, showcasing her unparalleled artistry and signature mix of music, dance, and visual spectacle.”
The 2025 edition of the AMAs will be broadcast globally across both linear and digital platforms. Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers can stream the show live via their local CBS affiliate’s feed and watch it on demand. However, subscribers on the basic Paramount+ Essential plan will have to wait until the day after the special airs to catch up.
While more details are still to come—including the evening’s nominees and other performers—the choice of Jennifer Lopez as host suggests that this year’s show will be one for the books. With her long-standing history with the AMAs and her proven track record for delivering unforgettable moments, it’s safe to say we’re in for a high-glam, high-energy night from the queen of pop herself.
One thing’s for sure: when Jennifer Lopez takes the stage, the only thing louder than the music will be the buzz.
