Over the weekend, fans flocked around the block of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in New York City. Saturday (August 28) marked the club’s 18th anniversary and many of music’s biggest names turned out for the exclusive celebration.

It’s been almost two decades since Jay-Z opened his first 40/40 Club in New York and the place has since become an iconic venue for people in the music biz – the go-to place for parties and listening events, as well as a variety of other events. In the years that followed, one club became a chain, with locations in Atlanta, Las Vegas and the Barclay’s Center.

Hov’s pals, including Swizz Beatz, Megan Thee Stallion, Remy Ma, Pusha T, J Balvin, Meek Mill, Vic Mensa, Van Jones, Busta Rhymes and more, were there to support the rapper-turned-mogul. The man of the hour himself attended the event with wife, Beyonce.

It’s all about the details with the Carters – and Jay-Z changed up the usual red carpet to a blue one. Guests stepped out on the plush royal blue walkway and posed for photographers against a lush wall of blue flowers. Hov arrived just as his long-time friend Swizz Beats was posing for pictures on the blue carpet, and they kicked off their reunion early, heading into the event together.

According to Billboard, attendees enjoyed an assortment of D’usse cocktails.

Beyonce also shared some snaps from the evening, giving fans a glimpse of her outfit for the event – she rocked a little black mini-dress, which she paired with hot pink satin platform heels and a matching jacket.

Jay-Z and Beyonce have been married for 13 years and have frequently collaborated on projects together. More recently, the couple made headlines starring in Tiffany & Co.’s “About Love” campaign, where Bey modeled the iconic Tiffany Diamond – a 128.54 carat yellow diamond with a history that dates all the way back to the 1800s.

In an interview at the event, Jay-Z opened up about why he loves working with his wife.

“She’s super detail oriented, obviously, as you can see from her work,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “She’s an incredibly hard worker, super talented, very inspiring.”

The couple share three children together – nine-year-old Blue Ivy, and four-year-old twin Rumi and Sir. And as for what Jay-Z is like as a dad, Michael Rubin is dishing the deets.

“In the few times I’ve seen him with his kids, he’s amazing.  He’s such a great dad,” the Fanatics chairman told People. “He’s with his kids all the time. So many times, when I talk to him on the phone, you always hear the kids. That’s number one for him — family and making the world a better place.”
