Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly “doing great” amid their divorce – and have been working towards a friendship.
Sources say the estranged couple is focusing more on having a successful and amicable co-parenting relationship.
A source tells Entertainment Tonight that Kim and Kanye “have been co-parenting successfully and both of them want what’s best for the kids.”
Another source tells E! News that the two have been “easing into a friendship,” adding that they’ve adjusted well to their new normal.
“Now that the pressure of the marriage is off, they are on the same page as friends,” the source tells the outlet.
Following Kim’s decision to file for divorce from Kanye in February, reports came out that the reality star and the rapper were no longer on speaking terms – one report even alleged that Kanye changed his phone number and all communications between them had to be coursed through their teams.
More recently however, it appears the two have arrived at a much better place when it comes to co-parenting their four children – eight-year-old North; five-year-old Saint; three-year-old Chicago, and two-year-old Psalm.
Earlier this month, Kanye and Kim reunited and took their kids to the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco before it opened to the public. Kanye also reportedly gave Kim a heads up about the song he wrote about their marriage on the album.
“Kanye did write a song about Kim and their marriage and Kim gave her input about it,” an insider told E! News. “He was respectful and gave her the heads up, and did not want to blindside her.”
According to ET’s source, Kim and Kanye “have been supportive of each other,” which Kim appeared to demonstrate last week, when she surprised fans with her appearance at Kanye’s listening event in Atlanta for his upcoming album Donda. She attended the event alongside their four children and her sister Khloe.
The source adds that the Kanye “respects Kim a lot and wants to keep the family unit,” adding, “Now that they have had space, Kim feels relieved that they can be cordial and spend time together for the sake of the kids.”
Outside of co-parenting however, they reportedly continue to lead their personal lives separately.
Last month, Kanye made headlines as he celebrated his 44th birthday in France, where he was photographed spending time with Irina Shayk.
A source previously told E! News, “If it doesn’t impact her kids, then she [Kim] doesn’t mind if Kanye dates.”
ET’s source also claims the mom-of-four “was never bothered or phased by Irina and Kanye spending time together.”
“She wants him to be happy, at the end of the day,” the source added.
“Kim is continuing to stay focused on her kids and her brand,” the source continues, adding that she “wouldn’t be fully opposed to dating again if the right guy came along down the line.”
Kanye hasn’t publicly addressed his divorce. Meanwhile, Kim has previously touched on some events leading up to their split in the final episodes of their reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
