Miranda Kerr is getting candid about her modern family dynamics with ex husband Orlando Bloom and his fiancée Katy Perry.
Miranda and Orlando share a 10-year-old son Flynn, whom they co-parent. And in a recent interview on the Moments with Candace Parker podcast, the Kora Organics founder opened up about meeting Katy for the first time since becoming part of Orlando’s life.
“When Orlando started dating Katy, I remember he invited me over one time and she was there, and we just immediately got along,” she recalled.
Reflecting on her first impression of Katy interacting with Flynn, she shared, “I saw how she was with Flynn. She was very playful with Flynn. She was not trying to be his mum. She was just being friendly and fun, and that’s all you can ask for.”
“We hung out by the pool at his house in Malibu and then there was like a little party up the road, and we all went to it together and it was like, ‘Oh, this is great!'” she continued.
Miranda and Katy have since forged a close bond and the model also gave the popstar an appreciative shoutout.
“I’m so grateful that she’s there because it takes the pressure off me,” Miranda said.
And as for how their relationships have evolved, “We go on holidays together. We celebrate all the important milestones together…I love her.”
“I mean, it’d be safe to say that I love her more than Flynn’s dad,” she jokingly added.
Miranda also shared that her relationship with her ex has likewise evolved.
“He’s, like, to me right now, a brother,” she continued, quipping, “And most of the time, an annoying brother.”
Miranda and husband Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel are parents to two other boys – three-year-old Hart and one-year-old Myles. Orlando and Katy welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in August of last year.
And the two moms’ relationship has only gotten stronger. In fact, they regularly show each other support on social media.
When Katy shared announcements about her baby news, Miranda shared sweet congratulatory messages to the couple.
Katy also recently joined Miranda for an Instagram Live session and chatted about motherhood.
And, just last month, Katy gave the model a sweet shout out on her Instagram.
“Spent me #wellnesswednesday with my gal @mirandakerr and @koraorganics for the very fresh & soothing #mintymineralhydrationmist launch!” Katy captioned a post about Miranda’s Kora Organics event. “First time I did yoga since being preggers… let’s just say I enjoyed shavasana okkkk 😱🙃 #amianinfluencernowornah.”
