Diddy hosted a fundraiser on Easter Sunday (April 12) in the form of the “world’s biggest dance-a-thon” on his Instagram Live to help raise money for healthcare workers in underserved areas amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Joining him in the Team Love Dance-A-Thon were several big names, including DJ Khaled, Rita Wilson, Kelly Rowland, Ava Duvernay, LaLa Anthony, Tiffany Haddish and Naomi Campbell. His ex Jennifer Lopez and her current fiancé Alex Rodriguez also joined in on the fun.

Lizzo also showed off her moves during the dance-a-thon – and that’s when things got a bit awkward.

So, Diddy’s sons and Lizzo were dancing on the livestream. But when Lizzo started twerking, Diddy all of a sudden went, “Whoa, whoa, whoa!” and stopped the music.

“It’s Easter Sunday, let’s play something a little more family friendly,” he said when he rushed into the frame.

And Lizzo, who was mid-twerk, got flustered, and was all apologetic. “Sorry, sorry, sorry!”

“Let’s do something fun. Well, don’t play that kind of… play something I can bop to,” she said, and suggested they play one of her tracks, “Juice.”

However, several hours later, model Draya Michele also joined the virtual dance party – and busted out some similar booty-poppin’ moves.

“You killed that!” Diddy told Draya. “I think that was one of the top performances.”

Which got fans wondering why he seemingly shut down Lizzo twerking but appeared to be all for Draya doing it.

“But Lizzo was a ‘no’ and embarrassed????? hmmm I’m a little confused now…We need to keep the same energy- I don’t like this,” one person wrote in the comments.

“IF LIZZO CANT DO IT DRAYA CANT DO IT EITHER,” another added.

“Ok… i get annoyed with lizzo sometimes but bruh, this was simply unfair,” one commenter expressed.

Diddy later went on Instagram Stories to explain why he did what he did during Lizzo’s performance.

“There’s one thing that I want to make clear. My queen, my sister Lizzo, when I stopped the music it was ’cause it had a lot of curses in there, not ’cause she was twerking,” he said in a video, which was captured by a fan account. “She’s one of the best twerkers in the world. Let’s keep that clear. It wasn’t about twerking. You’re allowed to twerk on Easter. There was a lot of cursing in the record. And I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand? So that’s why I stopped the record. Lizzo, we love you and everybody stop looking for the negative, look for the positive!”

And, to make it clear that there’s no drama, Lizzo also reposted Diddy’s explanation on her own Instagram Stories.

Drama aside, it seems that the dance-a-thon was a success – Diddy announced that they have raised over $3 Million.
