Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift went into a bar… Sounds like the beginning of a joke, but according to the “Bad Habits” singer, he really did take his longtime pal to a local bar – or pub, as they call it across the pond – somewhere in his hometown of Suffolk, England.

But just when you think it’s the type of situation that would have mobs of fans flocking in, the craziest thing happened: NOBODY NOTICED.

Ed shared the mind-boggling story of their somewhat incognito adventure during a recent interview on Kiss Breakfast.

“I took Taylor [Swift] there once, but when I took Taylor no one really clocked [it was her],” he shared.

It didn’t entirely escape EVERYONE though – someone did notice, albeit belatedly.

“It was like a week later that the person behind the bar was like, ’Did you bring Taylor Swift in here last week?’” he continued. “And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ Like, no one clocked it at the time.”

Who would have thought two of music’s biggest names can get away with sharing a drink at a pub without being hoarded by fans?

Apparently, TSwift isn’t the only famous friend he’s brought there – he’s brought Stormzy and others as well. However, unlike Taylor’s visit, Ed and his guests don’t always manage to stay under the radar.

“I took Stormzy to my local pub and it was one of those ones where like the locals were trying to be funny,” he recalled.

“It just ended up being like: ‘Can you not do that?’” he added with a sigh.

Did you know Ed actually has his own bar? Actually, he’s got two!

In 2019, he opened a bar with his manager, Stuart Camp, called Bertie Blossom on Portobello Road, Notting Hill AND in a 2017 interview with Zane Lowe, the “Shivers” singer revealed he’d built an underground bar right on his property.

“I’ve built a pub. Like, I had a bar before, a bar where you could pour beers but now this has like a selection of beers, which is cool,” he told the host. “So, basically, there’s an underground tunnel to get there that you can close off. So if I have a party, everyone goes in the pub and no one can get in the house so you get no one raiding the cupboards or smashing anything. You have to go underground to get to the pub.”

“Peter Jackson’s house [has] got like loads of secret passageways and underground tunnels,” he continued, adding, “I went there and was like I want all of this on a smaller scale.”

As for why he built his own personal pub, he explained that it’s so when he has kids, he can still hang out with his pals.

“I think it’s great, but the problem with my house at the moment is when I have a house party it’s all in the house and if I have kids I still wanna have mates around and have beers and stuff like that so it’s good to have something that’s separate. Me and my wife will take turns getting [drunk].”

It’s unclear though whether he takes his friends to one of these to share a pint because sadly, Ed didn’t drop the name of the bar they went to.
