Ariana Grande made her The Voice debut on Monday (September 20), with the premiere of Season 21, where she went head-to-head with fellow coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson during Monday’s blind auditions.

And later that evening, John’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, took to Instagram Stories to share which team she’s actually rooting for.

“Today is a bit of a funny day because it’s the premiere of The Voice, and John absolutely knows that this house only listens to Ariana Grande,” Chrissy said with a laugh in her IG Story video. “Imagine how awkward it is for John to live in this Ariana Grande household…and have to be him.”

“Anyhow, I didn’t go to any of the tapings—I have no idea who’s who, or what’s what—so I’m going to be watching along with all of you,” she continued. “And I will be unbiased—and also support my husband?”

Ari didn’t directly respond to Chrissy’s shoutout, but did share a screenshot of the DM she got from the Cravings cookbook author on IG Story, seemingly revealing where her loyalties really lie.

“Do u have any assets I can post to be team Ari?” Chrissy had written Ari in the DM.

The “Dangerous Woman” singer also cheekily tagged John, Chrissy and The Voice’s official IG account.

And Chrissy reposted it on her IG Stories.

LOL.

With Season 21 of The Voice being the 28-year-old popstar first time coaching in the singing competition, she’s up against coaches who have years of experience in the gig.

She recently revealed that John is her stiffest competition in the blind auditions round, telling People, “John and I have the most chair turns in common. But now at this point in the game, it’s even. Everyone has such a great array of talent.’ ”

And it seems Blake, who holds the all-time record for most wins by a coach on the show, may also have considered Ari somewhat of a competition waaay before they sat on their red chairs.

Back in 2016, they dropped their albums – his If I’m Honest and her Dangerous Woman – on the same day. “I released the album, and I had some momentum going at that point musically,” Blake told the outlet at the time. “I was excited thinking that this might be my chance to have the No. 1 album in the country.”

He also shared that his record label assured him that things were “looking good” and No. 1 country album was in the bag – but not on the overall chart because “Ariana Grande has got her album.”

While Blake made it to the Top 3 of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, he joked, “Literally, I may as well have released a coaster of a CD.”
