Celebrities know how to travel in style – this summer alone, notable A-listers have been getting in some R&R while sailing the high seas aboard magnificent yachts.
It’s the ultimate commodity to help some of the most recognizable faces in the world get away from it all – offering lavish comforts, top-notch privacy, and a means of travel all at the same time. Think floating luxury hotel, but totally exclusive.
These extravagant vessels are known for costing a pretty penny to rent for the occasional getaway – Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck European getaway mega yacht came with a $1 Million/week price tag. But some celebrities have taken enjoying the yacht life one step further – they opted to have their very own luxe sea transport!
David and Victoria Beckham – The Seafair, a.k.a. The Sophisticated Lady
David and Victoria are big on the yacht life – most of their family vacations are aboard one – so much so that they reportedly splurged $4 Million on a 94-foot-long yacht, according to Money Inc. And it’s believed that coining it The Sophisticated Lady is a tribute to Posh.
The Beckhams were just cruising around the Italian coast on their new luxe ride earlier this summer. It features four bedrooms that can sleep a total of eight, a gym, plus, separate crew quarters.
Tom Brady – Viva A Vida
The NFL superstar’s 16 metre custom cruiser is a Wajer 55S and comes with lots of cool features – like push-button fenders and an extendable swim platform. It can accommodate four, plus has lots of room to store cool toys that can help guarantee more enjoyment out at sea. It’s pretty fast, too, and can go up 40 knots or more. While Tom sealed the deal on his water baby just last year, it appears he’s going for an upgrade soon – according to Boat International, he’s already commissioned the larger Wajer 77 model!
Diane Von Furstenberg – Eos
DVF has owned the three-masted schooner since 2009. And at 305 feet, the sailing yacht offers more than enough room for her star-studded soirees – it can accommodate 16 guests and 21 crew! Not much is known about what’s inside, but per Architectural Digest, “it’s said to have a glass staircase and a private Jacuzzi on the upper deck.” It’s also hosted many a celebrity on the high seas, including Anderson Cooper and partner Benjamin Maisani, Andy Cohen, Bradley Cooper, Irina Shayk, Allison Williams and husband Ricky Van Veen. Oh, and did we mention it’s valued at $150 Million?
Roberto Cavalli – Freedom
Roberto Cavalli had a very specific vision for this custom superyacht – he co-designed it with Batman’s bat mobile in mind. With its jet black exterior, tinted windows and sleek lines, the 90-foot superyacht definitely rocks that Caped Crusader aesthetic. But inside, it’s all Roberto – with his signature animal-print furnishings exemplifying luxury and style. It can accommodate six guests and three crew members, plus, it has two dining areas on board.
Rafael Nadal – Great White
Rafael’s sweet sea digs, a Sunreef 80 Power superyacht, is relatively new – it was delivered in June of last year. The luxe vessel can accommodate up to 12 guests and four crew members. It also comes with a large garage that can accommodate a tender and Jet Ski, plus numerous other water toys.
The tennis star has been pretty vocal about his love for yachts. “Because I have a yacht, I am able to forget about everything and get away from that tiring stress. I do have a real passion for [superyachts],” he once told Boat International. “It is rare that I see a superyacht from a distance and I don’t know its name. I know them all!”
