Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are screaming – in excitement!
Their hot new collab “WAP” just debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart AND broke the US record for the most first-week streams for a song.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, ‘WAP’ got a total of 93 million US streams in the week ending August 13 – the most for any track ever in its first week of release. The record was previously held by Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings,” which amassed 85.3 million first-week streams back in February 2019.

Cardi B and Megan’s collab joins the ranks of only three other Hot 100 number ones in 2020 to be credited to two or more women (and no other billed acts) – Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me”, Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” featuring Beyoncé, and Doja Cat‘s “Say So” featuring Nicki Minaj. “WAP” is also Cardi’s fourth and Megan’s second US number one single.
Congrats, ladies!
