Cameron Diaz is making a return to the Hollywood scene!
The actress is coming out of retirement and gracing our screens once more. She is set to star in a new action-comedy film titled Back In Action. Jamie Foxx will be co-starring alongside Cameron in the upcoming project.
The movie, which is her first in almost a decade, will also be a reunion between the two superstars. They previously worked together in 1999’s Any Given Sunday as well as 2014’s Annie remake.
Horrible Bosses’ Seth Gordon will helm the film from a script that he penned with Brendan O’Brien. Jamie is co-executive producing.
Last year, Cameron candidly spoke about her reason for walking away from a acting. She said at the time:
“When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, other parts of you have to sort of be handed off to other people.”
She went on to say that after she turned 40, she realize that there were “so many parts of my life… that I wasn’t touching and that I wasn’t managing.
It’s fun to do, I love it. I love acting.
For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself… I feel whole.”
She added that she finally had time for “all those things I didn’t have time for before.”
