Brooklyn Beckham is responding to bashers.

The 24-year-old aspiring chef and eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham took to Instagram last week to upload photos of him making what seemed to be bolognese sauce. Eagle-eyed followers were quick to spot a wine cork that was floating in the pot.

He quickly drew flak for the unusual addition to his sauce-making. People flooded the comments section to make quips about the wine cork.

Following all the criticism directed his way, Brooklyn defended his decision to add a wine cork to the pot. On his instagram Story, he shared a screenshot of a highlighted portion of text stating the following:

“More research ensued and we found information that the addition of wine corks added to the cooking liquid ensured a more tender dish.”

The said text apparently came from the 2016 Naples Daily News article which was titled “Let’s Talk Food: Wine Corks Ensure More Tended Octopus.” However, the article does not specifically mention adding wine corks in preparing sauce. It focuses on several ways to cook octopus.
