Blake Lively recently went on Instagram to share a couple of her make-up looks for her upcoming movie, “Rhythm Section” – one where she looked pretty rough, and the other where she was fresh as a daisy.
“Facetune broke,” she captioned the photo, tagging both the movie’s Insta account and her make up artist.
But, apparently, people have been mistaking the photos as an example of her before and after makeup. And, she recently opened up about struggling how to respond to commenters to point out that BOTH looks actually involved make-up.
On Wednesday (January 29), Blake was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she got the chance to discuss the issue.
“She did this really rough look because my family’s experienced a lot of tragedy. She did this really rough look in the beginning. ” Blake explained about the first look, before moving on to the second. “And this is sort of once I clean up.”
Blake also revealed the the comments online did not escape her notice. “But when I posted it, people said, ‘Wow, Blake bravely shows what she looks like before and after makeup,'” she shared.
“There’s two sides. Some people think that’s what I look like without makeup, which I find very offensive because that takes an hour for her to make me look like that,” she said, pointing to the first, more worn-out look.
“This also takes an hour for her to make me look this good,” she added, referencing the cleaned-up look.
“I’m sort of vacillating between my vanity, which is like wanting to be like, ‘I don’t actually look like that!’” she admitted, adding, “And then also being a feminist and being like, ‘Why do we expect women to wake up looking like this? This isn’t realistic that you wake up this beautiful!’ But like, I would like people to believe that I wake up looking this beautiful.”
Blake Lively just put into words everyone’s #wokeuplikethis goals.
