Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are celebrating the beginning of their relationship.
10 years to the day they officially embarked on their romantic journey, the longtime couple and parents of three recreated their first date.
On Saturday (July 31), Blake and Ryan enjoyed a sushi dinner date at O Ya in Boston, where they dined on their very first date.
Blake went on Instagram Story and posted a photo of her husband outside the celebrated reastaurant, writing, “If it weren’t for this place. We wouldn’t be together. No joke.”
“No restaurant means more to us,” she added.
She also posted a photo of their date night outfits – Blake wore a black-and-white polka-dot sundress, which she paired with a pair of black sandals; Ryan sported a short-sleeved blue button-up shirt, dark slacks and tan sneakers.
She also shared some of the things what has changed and what stayed the same since that fateful day a decade ago.
“10 years later, we still go out on our ‘first date.’ But in much more comfortable shoes,” Blake captioned the photo.
Ryan also shared a snap from their romantic evening on IG Stories, posting a selfie with his wife outside the establishment and jokingly captioned it: “Our favorite restaurant with her 4th favorite date.”
However, a good Instagram husband knows when he screws up a post and Ryan later went on his IG Story to post the same photo again – but this time cropped less tightly.
“Posting this again because I cut out my wife’s cute earrings. She trained me better than this,” Ryan wrote. “Sorry if I let anyone down.”
LOL.
While their date night at O Ya marks their first date with each other, it’s not the first time they’ve been on a date together. Ryan has previously revealed that they went on a double date together – they were both dating other people at the time – which kinda ended up being super awkward for their respective dates.
“About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date—she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl—and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across,” he shared with Vanity Fair back in 2016.
More recently, he opened up about what happened after that double date – including going on a trip to Boston together.
“We were friends and buddies and about a year and a half later we went on a double date but we were with dating separate people,” he shared in an interview on the SmartLess podcast in July. “We hung out and we always kind of kept in touch sort of casually and next thing you know, she was going to Boston. I was going to Boston and I said I’ll ride with you.”
“I was just begging her to sleep with me,” he jokingly admitted.
Ryan also described their blossoming romance at the time as something “like out of a fairytale.”
“A week later I was like, ‘We should buy a house together.’ And we did,” he added.
Ryan and Blake met on the set of 2011’s Green Lantern, where they co-starred together. They tied the knot in 2012 and have since welcomed three daughters – six-year-old James; four-yeard-old Inez; and one-year-old Betty.
These two continue to be major #couplegoals, and often regale fans with glimpses of their adorably playful romance on social media – and, yes, that includes lots of trolling. LOL.
