They did it!
Love is definitely sweeter the second time around for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, who finally made it down the aisle together after breaking off their engagement almost two decades ago.
The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2021, tied the knot in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Court records show that the two obtained a marriage license in Nevada on Saturday.
Ben and Jennifer first got engaged back in late 2002 — but called things off in 2004. They reunited almost a year ago, and announced that they were engaged for the second time around just in April.
Shortly after the joyful news broke, Jennifer shared personal images and details of her and Ben’s happy day in her newsletter. She opened up about their very intimate wedding, in which her children Max and Emme served as witnesses to their union.
Jennifer began her newsletter update by sweetly stating:
“We did it.
Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
She went on to say that the intimate nuptials were “exactly what we wanted,” and shared:
“[The Little White Wedding Chapel] graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”
Jennifer revealed that the dress that she wore was from one of her old films. She and Ben “read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle.
But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”
She concluded with these very heartfelt words:
“When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another.
We had that. And so much more.
Best night of our lives.”
Jennifer signed off her newsletter with her full new name: “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”
