Addison Rae is back with another track to add to your weekend playlist—and this one’s got both chill vibes and cinematic flair.

The 24-year-old singer, actress, and all-around pop culture queen dropped her latest single “Headphones On” at midnight on Friday (April 18), along with an atmospheric music video that’s already making waves. It’s her second release of the year, and it’s giving full main character energy.

The track was written by Addison herself, alongside collaborators Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd. Elvira also produced the song—and if her name sounds familiar, it’s because she’s worked with the likes of Taylor Swift and Tove Lo, so yes, Addison is in very good hands.

Visually, “Headphones On” is a dreamy little escape. The music video, directed by Mitch Ryan, was filmed in the stunning landscapes of Reykjavik, Iceland. In it, Addison starts out wandering through a pretty unremarkable grocery store—but things quickly shift. She starts daydreaming and finds herself whisked away to the surreal, breathtaking Icelandic countryside.

The video “devolves into a mind-bending trip,” as her team describes it, mixing visuals of nature with surreal fashion and a touch of fantasy. It’s an aesthetic dreamscape that matches the slightly melancholic, totally addictive vibe of the song.

Just days before this release, Addison surprised fans during the first weekend of Coachella 2025, where she popped up on stage with Arca to perform “Arcamarine,” a remix of her earlier track “Aquamarine.” It was unexpected, bold, and the perfect teaser for “Headphones On.”

“Headphones On” is now available to stream across all major platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

With two singles already out this year, it seems like Addison Rae is building toward something bigger. Whether a new EP or full album is on the way, fans are definitely here for it.

[Intro]
Put your headphones on

[Chorus]
Guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I still get dolled up
Guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I

[Post-Chorus]
So I put my headphones on (I put my headphones on)
Listen to my favorite song (Listen to my favorite song)
Soaking up the rain (Ah)
Letting my hair down (Uh-huh)
So I put my headphones on
Come and put your headphones on

[Verse]
Wish my mom and dad could’ve been in love
Guess some things aren’t meant to last forever
I compare my life to the new it girl
Jealousy’s a rip tide, it pulls me under

[Pre-Chorus]
You can’t fix what has already been broken
You just have to surrender to the moment

[Chorus]
I guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I still get dolled up
Guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I

[Post-Chorus]
So I put my headphones on (I put my headphones on)
Listen to my favorite song (Listen to my favorite song)
Soaking up the rain (Ah)
Letting my hair down (Uh-huh)
So I put my headphones on
Come and put your headphones on
Listen to my favorite song

[Bridge]
I know the lows are what makes the highs higher
So I tell myself this is a reminder
Life’s no fun through clear waters

[Pre-Chorus]
You can’t fix what has already been broken
You just have to surrender to the moment

[Chorus]
Guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I still get dolled up
Guess I gotta accept the pain
Need a cigarette to make me feel better
Every good thing comes my way
So I

[Post-Chorus]
So I put my headphones on (I put my headphones on)
Listen to my favorite song (Listen to my favorite song)
Soaking up the rain (Ah)
Letting my hair down (Uh-huh)
So I put my headphones on

[Outro]
Gonna dance, gonna dance ’til the wheels fall off
You know I can’t get enough
Gonna dance, gonna dance ’til the wheels fall off
You know I can’t get enough
Gonna dance, gonna dance ’til the wheels fall off
You know I can’t get enough
Gonna dance, gonna dance ’til the wheels fall off
‘Til the wheels fall off
